The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) is calling out to all promising, up-and-coming performing artists to apply for the Datin Paduka Seri Endon Award for Performing Arts Excellence scholarship fund.
The YTL-sponsored RM50,000 scholarship fund is open to any Malaysian performing artists – dancers, singers, musicians, performance artists and actors – under the age of 35. It can be used for specialist courses, workshops, camps or diploma/degree programmes in the performing arts field.
The award was started two years ago in honour of KLPac’s late patron, Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood, for her tireless fight for the development of the performing arts in Malaysia.
The closing date for the award is 18 December 2009 and the winner will be announced in January 2010 in conjunction with a performance by past winner, renowned tabla player Prakash Kandasamy. For more information and to download the application form, please visit www.klpac.org
